Electric underfloor heating
Heating cable or mat under the floor finish, with its own thermostat in each room and warm floors within minutes.
Electric systems use a heating cable, or a cable pre-laid on a mesh mat, fixed down and covered by the floor finish. There is no water, no manifold and no plant to find room for, which is why electric is usually the answer for a bathroom, ensuite, laundry or kitchen rather than a whole house.
Because the cable sits close to the surface it heats quickly. A tiled bathroom floor is comfortable within minutes, so the system runs on a timer around the hours the room is actually used.
We supply the Devex Systems X Cable and X Mat ranges, which are fabricated, terminated and individually tested in Australia and carry Australian Made accreditation.

The products behind the system.
X Mat thin mats
The MG 150 is a 3.5 mm cable on a 500 mm wide fibreglass mesh with very low EMF, for thin adhesive beds, self-levelling compounds, fibre cement sheeting or tiling over existing tiles. The ML 150 is the thinnest mat in the range at 2.5 mm, for the smallest possible gain in floor height.
X Mat MK 200 in-screed mat
Designed to sit at the bottom of a 20 to 25 mm screed bed, on a structural slab, fibre cement or F-Board insulation. It uses CK 17 cable pre-laid at 80 mm spacing on a light fibreglass mesh and is rated at 200 watts per square metre.
X Cable in-screed and under-timber
The CK 17 twin conducting cable is rated to 17 watts per metre for a 20 to 25 mm screed bed. The lower-output CK 10 runs at 10 watts per metre, which is what makes it suitable under timber floors.
X Cable CT 30 in-slab
Steel armoured cable rated to 30 watts per metre for casting into a concrete slab, durable enough that the same cable is used for snow melting. Intended for a time-of-use tariff, with XPS insulation under the slab to cut warm-up time.
X Thermostat

From the wall-mounted TS 100 through to the TS 700 dual-zone colour touchscreen, which controls a heated floor and a towel rail from a single unit. The TS 600 adds Wi-Fi and app control.
F-Board and XPS insulation
F-Board sits in direct contact with the cable or mat to stop heat going downwards and to bring the floor up to temperature faster. Under a slab we use extruded polystyrene sheet, which also goes around the exposed slab edge.
